The School of Nursing offers an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN). The nursing curriculum includes one semester of pre-requisite courses and four semesters of required clinical nursing courses. Required nursing courses are face to face on the LSUA campus with clinical sites located in Rapides Parish. Following admission to the University, a student is assigned a nursing advisor who will help students develop a curriculum plan that charts his or her path through the application process of the nursing program.
Upon successful completion of the ASN curriculum, students are allowed to sit for the NCLEX exam to become a licensed registered nurse (RN) qualified to work in a variety of healthcare settings. Many ASN graduates return to LSUA to complete the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree in the 100% online RN to BSN program.
