What is the early college academy?

Our Ferriday Campus will host our next Early College and Career Academy. This program is the first of its kind at CLTCC, allowing students to participate in CTE programs in person, full-time while completing their remaining high school classes.

This rigorous dual enrollment program allows students to earn industry-based credentials (IBCs) followed by a technical diploma in a high-demand field. Upon graduation from both high school and college, these participants can immediately enter the workforce and continue their education with CLTCC.

Students are selected by the guidance counselors from their respective schools and approved by the Concordia Parish School Board to enroll in Career and Technical Dual Enrollment. Unlike
traditional dual enrollment in which students take general education courses, in the Early

College and Career Academy, students will take CTE courses that include hands-on and skills-based learning which are provided in person. Being selected for the Early College and Career Academy means students will have extensive oversight from a Coordinator and access to additional resources including; study skills, workforce preparation, and one-on-one guidance through the program. Students may also qualify for incentives through the district for completion of courses.
